Ann O’Neill, 53, of Osceola died Dec. 7, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Osceola United Methodist Church. The Rev. Julie M. Poore officiated. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., was in charge of arrangements. Ann Marie O’Neill, daughter of Marlys (Struck) and Stan Van Hauen, was born May 4, 1959, in Waterloo.
Ann grew up in Dike and graduated from high school in 1977.
She graduated from University of Northern Iowa and began teaching first and fourth grades in 1981.
Ann later took a job with Kirkwood Community College in the economic development division.
Ann was active in Parents Without Partners, where she met Jeff O’Neill. They were married Nov. 25, 1992, at the Little Chapel of the Flowers and moved to Osceola.
Ann worked at Prairie Meadows, Lakeside Casino, American State Bank and most recently was employed by Paul Muellers in Osceola.
Ann was a member of T.T.T. Sorority, an Osceola Main Street volunteer and Weight Watchers leader. Ann was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church and Sunday school teacher and song leader.
Ann is surived by her husband Jeff O’Neill of Osceola; father Stan Van Hauen of Dike; mother Marlys Van Hauen of Urbandale; sons, Justin Lehew of Ames, Matt Clausman of Simi Valley, Calif., and Josh Clausman of Chelmsford, Mass.; daughter Chelsea O’Neill of McDonough, Ga.; grandchild Temperence Hollis of McDonough, Ga.; brother Dave Van Hauen of Williamsburg; sister Ellen Rued of Elko, Minn.; other relatives and friends.
