Freda Gordon, 74, of Osceola died Nov. 21, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to her family for a fitting tribute to be decided later. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Freda Marie Gordon, daughter of Viola Eveline (Curtis) and John Martin Roe, was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Chariton.
Freda grew up around Chariton and later moved to Osceola where she graduated from high school.
On June 10, 1956, Freda married Meryle Lee Gordon in Van Wert.
Freda worked for Leon Schools for several years. She took what was to be a short-time job at Clarke County Electric and retired 20 years later.
Freda was a member of Osceola Country Club.
Freda is survived by her husband Meryle Gordon of Osceola; sons, Rich (Rhonda) Gordon of Pleasantville and Doug (Cathy) Gordon of Pella; sister Lois (Gerald “Shorty”) Adamson of Osceola; grandchildren, Bryan, Dylan and Hannah Gordon, Brandi Robinson and Scott Gordon; stepgrandchildren, Johanna Puyear, Amy Coachman and Laura Sopher; six great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Alice Redman and Peggy Chew.
