Interstate 35 3, Clarke 0

TRURO — Interstate 35 volleyball swept Clarke in the first round of the Class 3A Region 3 playoff bracket here Monday.

The Roadrunners won, 25-20, 25-19, 25-22. Interstate advances to take on ADM, Adel in Adel at 7 p.m. today.

The Tigers advanced by beating Saydel 25-8, 25-13, 25-20.

ADM swept Interstate 35 back on Aug. 30.

Murray 3, Mormon Trail 0

MURRAY — Murray volleyball made quick work of Mormon Trail in the opening round of Class 1A Region 3 action here on Oct. 16, winning 25-22, 25-14, 25-10.

Murray (13-9) takes on Lamoni in the second round on Oct. .

Cheyanne Ashby and Hannah Barber were both active at the net, each recording three blocks while Ashby totaled eight kills and Barber finished with six.

Kate Patton had a perfect night serving in 21 attempts with five aces, while Courtney Siefkas also went perfect at the service line with two aces on 13-of-13 serving. Patton also collected 16 assists.

Barber led the team with eight digs, while Ashby and Taylor Gilbert each finished with six.

Mount Ayr 3, Central Decatur 0

MOUNT AYR — Mount Ayr swept Central Decatur in the opening round of the Class 2A Region 3 playoff bracket here on Oct. 17.

Kassy Simmons led the Cardinals with four kills, while also serving 11-of-11. Simmons added six digs and two blocks.

Caitlyn Saxton had a team-high 13 digs while serving 11-11. Brittany Binning finished with three kills, 11 digs and seven assists.

Jeals Elsberry had four assists, five digs and one ace. Mary Akers added nine digs and one ace.
