To the voters of Clarke County,
I am writing this letter today to urge you to vote for my first deputy Janice M. White for county auditor in the upcoming general election Nov. 6.
I am the current county auditor, and am retiring at the end of this year having served the county as auditor for the past 12 years, and as deputy auditor for close to 12 years prior to being elected auditor.
Janice has served as my deputy for the past 12 years, and I have found her to be very dedicated to doing her job in a professional, efficient and friendly manner.
She currently serves as my first deputy and is in charge of the office in my absence.
I also know, from working in the office for almost 24 years, that experience is a very important qualification in performing the duties required for the position of county auditor.
Although the auditor is not a policy-making position, it is a very important position in the operation of county government.
The wide variety of duties for which the county auditor is responsible all require great attention to detail, and affects not only those who work for Clarke County, but all other government entities in the county.
The county auditor’s office is often referred to as the “hub” of county government and Janice’s experience in all the duties of the office will provide for a smooth transition Jan. 1, 2013.
Janice works well with all county employees and with the public we serve.
I hope you will join me in voting for Janice M. White for your next county auditor. She will serve you well.
Clarke County Auditor
