Richard Pfander, 70, of Gillette, Wyo., died Aug. 21, 2012, at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital in Provo, Utah.
Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, Colorado Springs, Colo., was in charge of arrangements.
Richard Pfander, son of Lyle and Virginia Pfander, was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Des Moines.
Richard was raised on a farm in southern Iowa and graduated from high school in Osceola.
He lived a few years in Loveland, Colo., and served two years in the U.S. Army.
Most of his adult life, Richard worked in the oil fields in Utah, Nevada, Montana and Wyoming.
Richard is survived by his mother Virginia Pfander of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son Roy (wife Janeice); grandchildren, Hayden, Chance, Cord and Callie Ann of Green River, Utah; brother Milo (wife Gwen) of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Audrey (husband Shell) of Rineyville, Ky., and Rosemary (husband John) Riggen of Monument, Colo.; two nieces; one nephew; many cousins and several uncles and aunts of Iowa; former employees and many friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his father and both sets of grandparents.
