Hansen named OST news editor

Amy Hansen has been named the permanent news editor of the Osceola Sentinel-Tribune.

Hansen has been a general reporter for the Creston News Advertiser the past three years.

She became familiar with the Osceola and Clarke County area as she was filling in for former News Editor Jennifer Nelson at various times. Nelson left in August to accept a position in Columbia, Mo. Hansen has been the interim news editor since then.

“Since Clarke County is a county south of where I was raised, the community feels a lot like home to me,” Hansen said. “The people I have met so far in this community have been very welcoming and helpful. I look forward to getting to know even more people as I’m out and about.”

She was born and raised in Indianola.

Hansen is a 2009 graduate of the University of Iowa with degrees in journalism and mass communication and history.

“I’m excited to be starting this new phase of my career and look forward to the challenges this opportunity offers me,” she added.

Hansen currently lives in Creston and will continue her commute to Osceola until housing can be found.
