Kenneth Ronald “Ron” Utley, 77, passed away Saturday, September 29 at his home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3300 Easton Blvd, Des Moines. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Ron was born February 9, 1935 in Osceola, IA. He spent much of his youth playing with his sisters and doing chores with his dad on a farm just outside of Osceola. Later, he joined the Air Force.

In 1958, he married Rita Mary Monahan from Creston, IA. They had three children and were happy and busy with their young family when Rita tragically passed away at the young age of 29.
