Murray 90, Ankeny Christian Academy 12

ANKENY — Murray used a balanced attack to defeat Ankeny Christian Academy 90-12 here Aug. 31.

The Mustangs improve to 3-0 with the win.

Austin Halls completed all four of his pass attempts for 37 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing twice for 7 yards and one score.

Andrew Rider led the Mustangs in rushing with 41 yards on two carries, including a 38-yard touchdown.

Greg Booth had three carries for 36 yards, while Seth Nerness had four carries for 34 yards and a 25-yard touchdown. Dylan Callstrom had 33 yards on seven carries.

Zane Hatfield scored on a 31-yard touchdown run while accumulating 32 rushing yards. Scott Funke also had a rushing touchdown, scoring on his only carry from 9 yards out.

Cody Scroggie had a 24-yard touchdown reception, while Sam Rockhold had two catches for 10 yards, including a 7 yard score. Corey McCracken caught one pass for 3 yards.

Halls and Rider each scored touchdowns on interception returns — an 11-yard return for Halls and a 15-yard return for Rider. Eddie Otto added another interception.

Sam Rockhold scored a touchdown off a fumble recovery. Devin Shields recovered two fumbles, while George Barber recovered one.

Nerness and Rider each returned a punt for a touchdown. Nerness had a 44-yard punt return for a score, while Rider had a 51-yard score on a punt return.

Murray hosts Grandview Park Baptist on Friday.

Central Decatur 62, Interstate 35 27

TRURO — Dalton Gilbert scored five touchdowns — four rushing and one passing — as Central Decatur rolled to a 62-27 victory over Interstate 35 here on Aug. 31.

Gilbert completed his only pass attempt of the game for 23 yards and a score to Trevor Greenland, while also accumulating 264 yards on the ground.

Tyler Williams added 71 rushing yards and three touchdowns for the Cardinals, while Bryson Durrow had 68 yards and one touchdown.

For Interstate 35, Tommy Bregar was 17-of-33 passing for 269 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, while also collecting 56 yards on the ground.

Jaylan White caught seven passes for 128 yards and a touchdown, Zach Goering had eight catches for 86 yards and a score, and Briar Vogel added two catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Vogel also had 25 yards rushing and one touchdown.

Brady Gray and Ethan Jones led the Roadrunners with 13 tackles each.

Central Decatur (2-0) hosts Pella Christian on Friday while Interstate 35 (0-2) travels to Davis County.
