CD runs well in opener

CORYDON — The Central Decatur cross country teams ran well in their season openers at Wayne on Aug. 30.

“The Central Decatur cross country squads ran extremely tough and with a lot of determination at the first meet of the season,” head coach Reece Tedford said. “Both squads are significantly ahead of where they were at this same point a year ago.”

Central Decatur is co-oping with Lamoni this season, adding numbers to the squad.

Breshears finished fourth overall, earning a medal. Junior Matt Marvin passed 19 runners in the final two miles, earning a medal with a new personal best time of 19:08 (10th on the all-time performance list), finishing 15th.

Senior Alex Foltz finished 35th (20:56) and Sergio Cardenas was 36th (20:57).
