Homestead Assisted Living, formerly West View Assisted Living, of Osceola has a new administrator – Amber Abraham.

Abraham is taking the place of former administrator Amy Edmonson, who was administrator of the Osceola and Creston assisted living facilities. Edmonson will now be working solely in Creston while Abraham works full-time in Osceola.

Both Osceola and Creston’s facilities were bought by Midwest Health of Topeka, Kan. last fall.

About Abraham

Abraham received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Buena Vista University in Creston and has been working in the human services area for the past five years. Most recently she served as a family consultant, providing in-home services for Mid-Iowa Family Therapy. Mid-Iowa provides services in support of several Iowa Department of Human Services programs.

Prior to applying for the position at Homestead, Abraham had considered going back to school to pursue a degree in nursing. She said she had an interest in doing social work for a nursing home or hospital.

“Then I learned about this position and thought, this is kind of what I’ve been looking for,” she said. “I’ve been around the medical field. I enjoy the medical aspect of things and really enjoy working with people as well.”
