Gilbert Leeps, 76, of Osceola died Aug. 16, 2010, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.

Gilbert’s body was cremated. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at Murray Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola, is in charge of arrangements.

Gilbert LeRoy Leeps, son of Wanda (Kane) and Leonard Leeps, was born Nov. 20, 1933, in Murray.

Gilbert attended Murray Community Schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956.

On June 5, 1960, Gilbert married Faye Inez Lamb in Afton. They later divorced.

Gilbert worked road construction, as a carpenter at Murray Lumber yard several years and retired from the Murray factory, where he operated a wire-cutting machine.

Gilbert is survived by his brother Charles Leeps of Bossier City, La.; sons Brian Eugene Leeps and James “Ed” Edward Leeps and daughter Jeanette Johnson, all of Murray; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Albert “Doc” Craft and special friend Gladys Sheesley.
