Trio tabbed All-POI
A trio of area boys’ basketball players were recently honored with All-Pride of Iowa Conference selections.
Senior Mark Jackson of Interstate 35 was tabbed to the First Team, while senior teammate Zach Moore was named to the Second Team. Central Decatur sophomore Devin Brines was also a Second Team selection.
Jackson was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Roadrunners, averaging 13.7 points and nine boards per contest. Moore added 7.2 points, 4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
Brines led the Cardinals with 12.9 points per game and also had over two rebounds and two assists per contest.
The All-POI girls’ basketball team will be released after Martensdale-St. Marys and Mount Ayr are done at the State Tournament this week.
