ARRESTS
Albia resident Benjamin Johnston, 28, was charged with driving while barred on Feb. 26 and released on bond Feb. 27.
ACCIDENT
An accident on Highway 34 caused $3,000 damage on Feb. 13. Christine Weilbrenner of Ottumwa was traveling east on Highway 34 when John Chalberg of Floris attempted to pass her. Weilbrenner was attempting to make a left turn at the time. Chalberg's car struck the driver's side of Weilbrenner's vehicle, causing disabling damage. Damage to Weilbrenner's vehicle is estimated at $2,000. Damage to Chalber's car is estimated at $1,000.
A one-car accident occurred on Feb. 24 after Rachel Wright of Woodburn lost control of her vehicle on an icy surface. Wright was traveling on Highway 34, seven miles east of Osceola when the accident happened. Wright's vehicle went into the ditch on the south side of the highway and rolled over onto its side. Damge is estimated at $5,000.
Donald Woods of Murray was traveling west on Highway 34 on Feb. 15 when he lost control of his vehicle because of ice. Woods' vehicle went in to the south ditch and rolled over onto its side. Damage is estimated at $6,500.
John Marquardt of Creston lost control of his van on Feb. 22 on an icy surface. Marquardt was traveling east on Highway 34 about seven miles west of Osceola when he lost control and entered a ditch north of the roadway. His vehicle rolled over onto its side. Damage was estimated to be $5,000.
A horse was struck in an accident Feb. 22. Patrick Flaherty of Murray was traveling west on Highway 34 when he struck the horse on the highway. The horse belonged to Collista Hildebrand of Murray. Damage to the vehicle was estimated to be $3,000.
