Knows from experience how good hospital staff is
Dear Editor:
Some people like to bad mouth our small town hospital and Emergency Room doctors and staff, but I can say for a fact that they have made great improvements and the board has hired wonderful staff that know what they are doing.
One of the ER doctors drew one sample of blood and knew immediately I had blood poisoning and started the staff moving to save my life.
The weather was too bad for life flight. They called Jeff Wilhelm to drive the ambulance to Des Moines because the roads were so icy. God puts special people in our paths at certain times with special talents, and Jeff has one for driving. The first responders who went with us kept me alive. Charles and I are forever grateful to the Clarke County hospital, ER staff, doctors and anyone involved with helping that early morning.
Thank you to Cindy Wright who got out of bed to help Charles get me out of our icy driveway so we could head to Osceola. Thank you to Joe Wright who drove Charles to Des Moines where I was in ICU for five days and then Younkers. For three days Charles never left my side.
Thank you to my Christ's Way Church family for all your prayers, phone calls and visits.
Thank you to the Methodist ICU staff and doctors who worked to save my life plus the Younkers staff who helped with rehab.
I'm home and gaining in strength slowly.
I'll be off work at least a couple of months, hope everyone at Terrible's don't forget me.
May God bless all who have helped us and continue to do so. God saved me for a reason and maybe it is to help you some day.
Charles and Connie Livesay, 920 Smith St. Woodburn, Iowa
