State Patrol report
A one-vehicle accident occurred on Feb. 8 in Clarke County. Chase Gillmore, 46, of Cherokee Vill, Ark., was driving a 2009 International truck/trailer northbound on Interstate 35 at 1:45 p.m. when he started losing control due to icy road conditions at the 26.5 mile marker. The vehicle slid off into the median and flipped. The vehicle came to rest on its left side. The driver was wearing his seat belt and uninjured and estimated cost to repair or replace is $40,000.
A two-car accident occurred at 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 5 in Clarke County. Kenneth Williamson, 31, St. Charles, was traveling eastbound on Osage St. at the intersection of 195th Ave. in Clarke County. The driver applied the brakes on the vehicle because he had to stop at a stop sign. The road surface was covered with snow at the time and the 2000 Dodge R15 pickup slid through the stop sign. Casey Pontier, 16, Osceola, was traveling northbound on 195th Ave. at the same time and location. Pontier's 2001 Dodge R25 pickup struck Williamson's vehicle in the right front side. Both were wearing seat belts and neither driver was injured. Approximate cost to repair or replace Williamsons' vehicle is $5,000. Approximate cost to repair or replace Pontier's vehicle is $2,000.
