Gertrude Benedict of New Virginia will celebrate her 85th birthday on Feb 25.


An open house hosted by her children, Beverly Jones of Sumner, Lloyd Benedict of St. Charles, Wes Benedict of Truro and Roger Benedict of Indianola, will be held Feb 27 at the New Virginia Legion Hall from 2 to 5 pm.


Gertrude farmed for years with her late husband, Kenneth and was a librarian for I-35 Schools and New Virginia Library.
