The Weldon area had beautiful frost on the trees and shrubs.
Our sympathy for Kelly Mason’s family of Osceola. Chris Mason’s funeral was Jan. 6, 2010. Carlee’s husband, Gerry Milne, gave the opening prayer at Chris’s funeral. Chris would have liked that. Chris will be missed. His half- brother is Brent Mason of Clinton, Mo. Kathy Mason is Chris’ step mother. Harland and Avis Collins went to Macks Creek, Mo. to visit Martha and Lyle Mankey just before Christmas and did not return home until after Christmas. Carrianne had a big dinner for all Christmas. Her folks came from Florida that day and Caleb and Cindy came from Buffalo, Mo. for Christmas dinner. The day was spent visiting, opening packages and playing with Cooper who is six months old. Adam is getting ready to go over to Kuwait for a year. He is in the National Guard. All had a good time visiting and playing. On Sunday, Caleb and Cindy came to Martha’s for a good visit and to go to church where Lyle is the minister. Dinner was served at Martha’s and all spent the afternoon visiting. Harland and Avis came home on Monday. The roads were in good shape until they got to Weldon. The graders were out so they made it home fine; a good time was had by all.
Gospel Singing was Jan. 17, at Decatur Barum Community Center. Everyone is welcome, no charge, 2-4 p.m. every third Sunday of the month.
Charles Pearcy and Kathy Mason went to Clinton, Mo. and spent Christmas with Kathy’s son Brent and Sarah Mason and family. They had rain and snow in Kansas too.
Dorothy Savely’s sister in Des Moines, Dorothy Getman, suffered a slight stroke. No damage was done and she is at her home.
Betty Savely had surgery this past week in Des Moines. She is in Therapy at Des Moines Methodist room 414.
Viola Jones of Van Wert spent Christmas with her son, Bill Jones. They went to South Carolina to visit their grandson’s family. Then Vi Jones’ son, Jerry, picked her up and they went Conyers, Ga. Anyone wishing her address contact Kathy Mason.
Wendell and Charlotte Jones went to Hawaii on a two week vacation. The weather was great at 85 degrees.
Faye Worden had a great big birthday on Jan. 19. Her address is Patty and Alan Worden, 617 W 8th St., Loveland, CO 80537
