White’s Woodworking & Art Gallery
It was back in 1982, just off a dusty gravel road west of the Liberty Highway that a small business was forming. They first started selling their picture frames and shadow boxes at craft shows. They were gaining in popularity so much so that by 1985 they started selling their frames wholesale.
Now let’s jump forward to 1994. Their business was booming so they decide to expand their business and open a showroom here in Osceola at 117 S. Main. If you haven’t figured it out yet, we’re talking about Whites’ Woodworking & Art Gallery, owned by Dan and Kim White.
Their art gallery has been a fixture on the square for 15 years. They have a staff of nine employees. Last August they made some major changes and moved everything, with the exception of frame construction and millwork, to town. They also remodeled their showroom.
They specialize in custom framing and shadow boxes but also have collectibles and gifts in all price ranges and for persons of any age. The artisanship of their custom pieces is absolutely beautiful.
Kim stated that “If our frame shop can’t build it, it can’t be built.”
Once you step into their art gallery, you will be welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable staff that is ready to assist you in choosing that perfect piece of art for your home or helping you design the right look with a custom mat and frame for your special treasure. You will find pieces from several well-known artists such as P. Buckley-Moss, Terry Redlin, Jesse Barnes, Charles Peterson, and Rosemary Millette, just to name a few. They are also a dealer for Mennonite furniture so be sure to check out their floor model during your next visit.
Whites’ Woodworking & Art Gallery are marking their 15th Anniversary this summer. To help celebrate this milestone, Dan and Kim are having an “Anniversary Sale” starting June 26 through July 11. Check your local papers for more details.
